Act. Learn. Share Camp Diary: Day 4
The fourth day of the Camp started with a master class by the NGO “Workshop of Social Cinema”. Andrei Polupanov, Chairperson, shared basics of the creation of social videos with the help of a smartphone. The participants were split into three groups. Each group had to come up with an idea for a video on human trafficking issue, and then create their own social video using anything that can be found around. The young people performed well and presented their videos at the end of the session.
The second half of the day was devoted to HIV/AIDS issues, which is very important within the context of trafficking in human beings as victims of modern slavery are especially vulnerable to this virus. The representatives of UNAIDS program in Belarus explained to the participants what HIV is, how it can be transmitted and what preventive measures must be taken to avoid infection. The participants also discussed with experts stigma towards HIV-positive people and analyzed the problem through discussions of video cases. UNAIDS representatives provided an opportunity for everyone to take an express test for HIV on saliva.
After the intense day, the participants took part in an exciting quest on HIV/AIDS and healthy lifestyle organized by UNAIDS.
