New anti-trafficking ideas of IOM X camp alumni
In 8 months after the completion of the youth summer camp “Learn. Act. Share” the participants met together again to share their ‘post-camp’ experience related to the organization and participation in activities that were inspired by the 5-day summer camp, which was organized under the auspices of the UN Migration Agency’s IOM X campaign in the summer of 2017 with the support of other UN agencies, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, civil society and private companies. IOM X is a campaign to encourage safe migration and public action to stop exploitation and human trafficking.
The meeting was held on March 19-20, and during the two bright busy days the participants were introduced to the project development concept and presented their ideas for anti-trafficking and related projects that they will implement in their universities and communities in the coming months.
We shared our ideas and got down to development of new projects. I’m so excited about it. Of course, I was happy to meet again all the participants and organizers, share positive emotions and get inspiration for future achievements. I’m convinced that all together we’ll make the world better
The participants also shared their ideas on improvement of the format and content of the summer youth camp “Learn. Act. Share “, which will be taken into account when organizing an educational camp on counter-trafficking this summer.
The event was organized within the international technical assistance project “Strengthening of the National Referral Mechanism in the Republic of Belarus for the victims of human trafficking” implemented by IOM jointly with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Belarus” with the financial support of USAID and Norwegian MFA.
